Guess the rent of this one-bedroom San Antonio home in Dignowity Hill

San Antonio’s real estate market going to be hot this year. (Hotter than Austin!) And San Antonio rents aren’t dropping. From finding your perfect new home to negotiating rent prices, searching for an apartment in San Antonio can be quite the experience. Taking inspiration from our sister publication SFGate in San Francisco, MySA is looking at local properties showcasing the best, worst, and everything in between here in the Alamo City. Let’s guess the rent.

Let’s head east of Olmos Park’s midcentury duplex to Dignowity Hill for this week’s listing — a cozy one-bedroom house near St. Paul Square.

Although the Craigslist post doesn’t specifically say it, the modern features and accents look like this home has been recently refreshed. Other listings say this home is around 512 square feet, so it’s really cozy.

But with all these modern touches how much will it cost per month? You might be surprised.

Let’s take a look.

How much will you pay for these updated modern touches like the sliding barn door?

Immediately the sliding barn door jumps out. Not in a bad way. It’s an inviting choice even if it only leads to the restroom. Notice the stained glass film on the front door?

This is what’s beyond the sliding barn door — a bathroom with a nook for what appears to be a washer and dryer. The post says it has a “large shower” but one couldn’t tell at this angle. I would like to see it. (Now.)

I love good shaker cabinet, which are designed to look simple but pleasing to the eye. Most shaker cabinets are minimal with some kind of symmetrical recessed square or rectangle on the doors. A few stools at the bar counter and you’ve got a cute eating nook.

You'll get granite counter tops and an updated sink for this cozy one-bedroom listing.

The shaker cabinets are complemented by these granite countertops and modern faucet.

It looks like the pantry is almost as big as the bedroom.

It’s a pantry, and a surprisingly big one for a small one-bedroom. With all that shelf space you could really store just about anything.

Here's the bedroom. It doesn't look like much, but the sloped ceiling is inviting.

And we end with a look at this little nook of a bedroom with a sloped ceiling. You don’t need much space if you’re just in here to sleep, right?

So how much will it cost to live in this little Dignowity home? Rent is listed at $860 a month. There is an application fee, but the post says interested tenants won’t pay it until they’ve viewed the space and are committed to renting the home.

Average rent for a one-bedroom apartment in Dignowity Hill is $1,173, according to Zumper.
