In Lake Highlands, a modern home with green views has two kitchen islands

This home in Lake Highlands is what you get when you combine modern design with lush, green surroundings. The home at 9446 Spring Hollow Drive is located on a corner, 0.268-acre lot in the Town Creek area of Lake Highlands. It has four bedrooms and five bathrooms in its 4,549 square feet.

Listing agent Donald Wright with Ebby Halliday Realtors said the property backs up to a creek and a walking path. Large windows throughout the house provide views of the surrounding greenery.

“From any room in the house, you feel almost like you’re in a treehouse,” Wright said.

On the first level of the home, the main living room has a two-story tall ceiling and large windows that look onto the backyard. The living room is connected to the kitchen area, which has a sleek, all-white design with ample storage and natural light. The kitchen has two islands — one with seating and another with storage — and views of the backyard through large windows. The home also has a dining room, a den and a guest suite on the lower level.

The remaining three bedrooms are located on the second level. The primary suite has an en suite bathroom with heated floors and a walk-in closet, according to the listing. The primary suite has access to an upstairs porch. The other two bedrooms both have en suite bathrooms.

The tax record says the home was built in 1974, but Wright said it was totally remodeled in 2013 with only the foundation remaining.

“Hearing that it was done in 2013 is surprising because, when you walk in, it looks like brand new construction,” he said. “They were ahead of the times when it came to the finishes. If someone was to build a house today, it would look very similar to what they have.”

Outside, there’s a covered porch, a pool and an additional grassy area. The home’s rooftop is also accessible by a staircase. Wright said that, when the home was originally built, the owners planned to add a rooftop deck later on—though that project was put off. The space could be finished out by future owners, Wright said.

The home is on the market for $2,150,000.
