This five-bedroom home on Park Lane has a modern Santa Barbara feel and a private lot
Situated on a half-acre lot in Old Preston Hollow, this Santa Barbara-style home offers plenty of privacy and enough space for indoor and outdoor entertaining.
The home was built in 2013 and was designed by David Stocker of SHM Architects. Co-listing agent Pogir of Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty said the design was ahead of its time, offering a modern spin on the Santa Barbara feel.
The home is 7,864 square feet and has five bedrooms, six bathrooms and two half-bathrooms.
Pogir said that one of the most unique features of the home is its indoor-outdoor living appeal. The home has a C-shaped layout with a pool and covered patios in the middle.
“The inside-outside connection is so dramatic,” he said, noting the way that many of the interior spaces have direct views of the outdoor entertaining areas.
When you step into the home’s foyer, you can see the pool and outdoor entertaining spaces thanks to windows and the open-concept design in the living spaces. The living room is next to the foyer, and windows on both sides of the room provide views of the property. There’s a wet bar on one end of the living room and an office off to one side toward the front of the house.
The home’s kitchen and dining room are on the opposite side of the foyer. There’s a butler’s pantry that connects the dining room to the kitchen. The kitchen is spacious and fits both a breakfast space and a small living area. The back patio is accessible from the kitchen through a set of French doors.
The first floor of the home also includes two half-bathrooms, a secondary office, a three-car garage and a guest room or flex room. A bathroom off the guest room is easily accessible from the pool and patio.
Five bedrooms are on the second floor of the home. In the primary suite, there are two walk-in closets, a bathroom with two sinks, a freestanding bathtub and plenty of views of the property through large windows.
The third level includes a playroom space and a fitness room. The home has an elevator to provide access between the floors.
Outside, the entire property is gated, and manicured hedges provide privacy from the surrounding areas. Pogir said the sellers have extensively landscaped the grounds, including planting multiple magnolia trees and turf on the property. The outdoor patio next to the pool has a firepit and a grilling area.
The home at 5807 Park Lane is on the market for $6,495,000. It is co-listed by Nora Kutob and Pogir of Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty.
