This four-bedroom Highland Park home has Juliet-style balconies
Perched on a corner lot in Highland Park, this four-bedroom home has a symmetrical design and multiple balconies.
The home at 3700 Normandy has four bedrooms, four bathrooms and two half-bathrooms in 5,845 square feet of space. Listing agent Carla Hollis of Allie Beth Allman & Associates said the home has a “Palladian” design style because of its symmetry and classical components. The home was built in 2005 and has classic details like wood paneling in the library, crown molding and four fireplaces.
Hollis said the design is flexible and transitional and could work with any design style.
“If someone is a contemporary art collector, it would be so easy for them to move right into 3700 Normandy and make it theirs with contemporary furnishings and art,” she said.
Upon entering the home, a study is located on one side of the foyer and a dining room is on the opposite side. In the study, wood paneling on the walls offers timeless appeal and a fireplace acts as a focal point. This room is full of natural light and has multiple windows and a set of French doors along the front of the house. The dining room has a similar layout, with a fireplace at one end, tall windows and another set of French doors that open to the front of the property.
Toward the back of the home, the family room has a fireplace, built-in bookcases and beams along the ceiling. French doors in this space allow more natural light and provide access to the backyard. Nearby, the home’s breakfast room and kitchen space are connected for easy flow. The kitchen has white cabinetry, stone countertops, two sinks, double ovens, double dishwashers and a gas range.
The laundry room has a shower that could be used for pets if a furry friend needs a thorough hose-down after a muddy walk.
All four of the home’s bedrooms are on the second level. The primary suite has a spacious bedroom with a fireplace along one wall. The suite has an additional room that could be a study or a nursery, according to listing information. The primary bathroom is complete with two sinks, a separate bathtub and shower and two closets. There is also a balcony outside of the primary suite with an exterior staircase that leads to the backyard.
The three remaining bedrooms, each with an en suite bathroom, are also on the second level of the home. A game room is also on this level. One of the bedrooms and the game room have Juliet-style balconies along the front of the house, Hollis said. Another one of the upstairs bedrooms has access to a balcony in the back of the home.
The home has two entrances, one along Normandy Avenue and another along the cross street of Mt. Vernon Avenue. Both entrances converge in the middle foyer section that connects the main living spaces. The home has a space for an elevator, Hollis said if future homeowners want to add one. The property has a three-car garage and new artificial grass in the backyard.
3700 Normandy Ave. is listed for $3,300,000.
